Six engineering students of the TKM Kollam Engineering College, Kollam dies in an accident when their speeding car rammed into a lorry. All of the students were of the third year and they were returning from Varkala beach after the new year bash.
“The car was at high speed and it rammed into my lorry. The bodies were taken out with great difficulty. All of them died on the spot,” the driver told the media.
The incident happened soon after the Kerala government had announced ‘Subha Yatra-2015’ to reduce road accidents in Kerala. The program is being implemented from 1st January 2015. Sadly, ill fate made the students to be victims of a road accident on the very same day.
According to statics around 4,000 people die in road accidents, while at least 35,000 are left injured.
